Maritime codes and regulations

 

The pursuit of quality has been central to Lutz Elevators vision from the very beginning, and it remains the watchword of every employee. We have established a quality system in conformity with EN ISO 9001:2000. Lutz Elevators is familiar with the strict and particular rules and regulations of all international organizations involved with safety on-board seagoing vessels, classification bureaus and government regulations. Our manufactory is continually monitored by several classification authorities. Find an incomplete list of regulations below:

LRS - Code for lifting appliances
ABS - Construction of Shipboard Elevators
DNV - Rules for certification of lifts
BV - Passenger and goods lifts and hoists suitable for the carriage of personnel on board ships
GL - Germanischer Lloyd (German institution of naval insurance and safety on board)
SBG - See-Berufsgenossenschaft (association for naval insurance and safety)
KR - Korean Register of Shipping
TRA - Deutsche Aufzugsvorschrift (German regulations for elevators)
EN 81-1/2 - European regulations for elevators
BS 5655 - English regulations for elevators

According to the regulations for ships at sea we guarantee the following operation limits: Rolling: 15 degrees with 10 sec. interval, Pitching:10 degrees with 7 sec. interval. Lutz Marine elevators are built to withstand the following maximum inclinations: Rolling: up to 30 degrees, Pitching: up to 15 degrees. The doors for Lutz marine elevators fulfill the current SOLAS regulations for fire proof doors. The doors are accepted by all major classification authorities such as : DOT-London, LRS, GL, SBG, BV, DNV, ABS or KR.
